Turmeric for the skin
Given the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant qualities, turmeric is a precious spice for the health of the face and body. Using this completely natural product, you can prepare excellent DIY products with moisturizing and anti-aging power:
1. Moisturizing and anti-wrinkle turmeric oil
Ingredients – Materials per 500ml of product
- Sesame oil 500ml – cold-pressed
- Turmeric powder 3 tablespoon
Method
- The oil should be poured into a glass jar mixed with turmeric, then closed with an airtight cap, and left to macerate for a week, remembering to shake it at least once a day.
- After seven days, take only the oil leaving the turmeric powder on the bottom, and keep it in the dark bottle.
- At this point, you can use the oil as a moisturizer for the eye area with an excellent anti-wrinkle effect but also for chapped hands and feet.
2. Turmeric face mask
The turmeric face mask that we offer is a straightforward recipe, useful as an exfoliant, and good for moisturizing the skin. It can also help in case of problems such as acne, eczema, rosacea, etc. Moreover, this spice tends to reduce inflammation and redness, promoting the regeneration of the skin.
Ingredients – materials for 1 application
- Organic honey 1 tablespoon
- Milk or natural yogurt 1 tablespoon
- Turmeric powder ¼ tablespoon
Method
- Pour all the ingredients into a bowl and mix until creamy and sticky paste forms (in case you can add more or less milk or yogurt), able to remain on your face for a few minutes.
- At this point, wash your face well, remove the make-up if you have it, and proceed with the compress that must be applied uniformly all over the face (be careful to collect the hair well and put a towel or shirt that can get dirty).
- Let the mask dry a little (maximum 20 minutes), and then proceed to wash it off with cold water and then gently pat your face with a towel.
You can add other ingredients to this mask according to your needs, such as a teaspoon of lemon juice if you want to lighten the skin, chickpea flour to thicken, or a few drops of tea tree oil you use the compress against the acne.
3. Turmeric moisturizer
A simple solution to make your skin more beautiful, youthful, and radiant is to add a teaspoon of turmeric to your face or body moisturizer and use it every day.
4. Pack of chickpea flour and turmeric
Another good combination is the one that combines chickpea flour, turmeric, and water to create a batter useful as a scrub, with a moisturizing power but also able to slow down hair growth. In India, turmeric is also widely used for this purpose.
Turmeric for hair
Turmeric for hair can be used for different purposes: lightening or giving blonde highlights, an anti-dandruff treatment, or finally making hair softer and stronger.
5. Turmeric hair pack
If you want to lighten your hair or make an anti-dandruff treatment, the procedure for a turmeric compress is the same for both cases.
- It takes about 1 teaspoon of turmeric to dissolve in a cup of hot water.
- After letting it cool down and depositing the powder on the bottom, you can pass the turmeric water on dry hair, leaving it to act for a few minutes in case of anti-dandruff treatment or to make the hair softer, up to 2 hours if you want to lighten it instead (in this case, you can keep the compress in place with the help of a cap).
- Alternatively, the turmeric ole olive, excellent for facial skin, can also be used for hair by combining it directly with the shampoo (preferably neutral) that you use for washing. The recommended dose is 3 tablespoons per 200ml.
6. Turmeric to lighten hair
Turmeric has a lightening and reflecting effect on hair. It is especially recommended for those with brown hair to obtain a blonde effect in contact with light. However, much attention must be paid to those already blond, and turmeric could give light hair a color tending to be phosphorescent yellow, better than choosing other remedies if you want to lighten your hair or give it new reflections.
7. Anti-dandruff turmeric
Due to its anti-inflammatory power, turmeric is also able to cure an irritated and dandruff scalp. Usually, very few applications are enough to notice good results. Don’t keep it on your hair too long if you want to prevent it from taking on blonde highlights. It is better to use the ole olive by applying it directly on the irritated scalp and then rinse (you can also add 2/3 drops of tea tree oil to enhance the anti-dandruff effect).
8.Turmeric to strengthen hair and make it softer
If used with a certain constancy, Turmeric is also able to make hair shiny, soft, and strong. For this purpose, the ole olive is perfect for making short compresses (thus avoiding the hair taking on the color of the spice) and for adding to the shampoo.
