Natural remedies for hair loss

Nutrition, natural remedies, and prevention: let’s see how to fight hair loss and reinforce it.

The state of the hair is a reliable indicator of the health of our bodies. Along with nails, eyes, and skin, the hair also clearly indicates a lack of a specific nutritional element.

The life of the hair is divided into 3 phases: the face of growth that involves more than 80% of the hair present, the stationary phase, or rest, which means just over 1% of the hair. And the fall phase, which involves the rest of the hair.

Problems arise when the fallen hair exceeds the growing ones. In this case, we talk about hair loss. There are some times of the year, like in the fall, when it is normal for more hair to fall out than usual. According to a scientific study, in autumn, more hair is lost due to sun exposure to which the hair has been subjected during the summer.

If hair loss was prolonged, it is necessary to intervene with a correct diet and some natural remedies.

The causes of hair loss

Hair loss can be reversible and caused by drug abuse, nutritional deficiencies, stress, impure liver, or incorrect diet. But some factors make hair loss a hardly reversible process; these are hereditary factors or aging.

Feeding to counteract hair loss.

The first of the natural remedies against hair loss is nutrition. The hair to be healthy must have all the nutrients it needs: to nourish the hair up to the root, you must take vitamin A, C, vitamins of the B complex, Biotin (or vitamin H), minerals such as calcium, zinc, and silicon (useful for the synthesis of keratin).

All these elements are found in cereals, rice, brewer’s yeast, almonds, and eggs. Also, the algae, for their protein content, are to be included in the diet to prevent hair loss.

It is also good to keep the cholesterol level low using garlic, ginger, turmeric, and fenugreek. It is also a green tea, thanks to its antioxidant power. Finally, limit the intake of refined sugars, red meat, carbonated drinks, and precooked foods.

Hair fall: natural remedies

  • Apple vinegar: Among the grandmother’s remedies for hair loss, we remember apple vinegar. It stimulates the opening of the pores and the absorption of the enzymes that strengthen the scalp. Make a compress of apple vinegar to apply to the hair. Leave to stand for a few minutes and then rinse thoroughly. This treatment should be done at least once every two weeks.
  • Aloe vera: Apply aloe juice to the hair at least an hour before shampooing: aloe helps strengthen them.
  • Vegetable oils: Olive oil, argan oil, almond oil, or avocado oil spread on the hair are an excellent remedy to help them grow and strengthen them. Before shampooing, apply a few drops of one of these oils and leave it to rest for at least 10 minutes before rinsing.
  • Coconut oil: Coconut oil strengthens hair and prevents it from falling. You can apply a few drops on the scalp half an hour before shampooing. Alternatively, to make your hair shiny, you can use a few drops of this oil to your hair immediately after shampooing.
  • Ginger: Ginger has many properties, including hair health. It prevents fall and stimulates hair re-growth. You can prepare a compress with a teaspoon of crushed ginger and a tablespoon of vegetable oil to be applied to the scalp half an hour before the shampoo.

Precautions for the health of the hair

Hair washing is essential for the prevention of hair loss and health.

The advice is not to wash them every day because too many washes destroy the scalp’s natural defenses, making the hair more fragile, favoring the fall. For the same reason, it is essential to rinse them thoroughly and avoid leaving shampoo residues on the hair. Of course, those with oily hair should wash them more often than those with dry hair, but anyway, not more than once every 2 days.

To avoid massive exposure to the sun, smog, and atmospheric agents, which damage the hair, it is useful to cover them with a scarf or a hat.

The scalp massage stimulates blood circulation with a revitalizing effect on follicles. For a more significant impact, you can use the essences of rosemary or lavender.
