Tips and tricks for removing make-up in a natural way
Removing makeup before going to sleep is very important for the well-being of our skin because we eliminate make-up residues, keep the skin fresh, radiant, and healthy, and prevent annoying blackheads. However, if you forget to remove make-up, they go to block the pores and, consequently, cause the appearance of impurities on your face.
Make-up removal in a natural way is simpler and cheaper than what is often believed, as most of the products used to carry out this step without using ingredients harmful to our skin have them in our kitchen.
Non-natural makeup removers are composed of ingredients used for a long time, cause redness, dryness, boils, and other unpleasant reactions on our skin. The main ingredients to avoid are:
- Chemical surfactants, reported on the cosmetic label with the names SLS and SLES, aggressively cleanse our skin because they have a strong degreasing power and can cause rashes such as dermatitis.
- Petrolates, paraffin, and mineral oils create a film on the skin and prevent it from ” breathing. “
- Parabens are a chemical preservative used a lot because they are cheap. Usually, the most used are found on the label: methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, isobutylparaben, butylparaben, and benzyl paraben.
- Alcohol and perfumes are substances that can cause irritation, burning, and rash on the skin.
- Other equally harmful ingredients are formaldehyde, imidazolidinyl urea, Diazolidinyl urea PEG and PPG, dimethicone, propylene glycol, sodium hydroxide, aluminum, DEA, MEA, TEA.
To remove makeup naturally, you can buy products that do not contain these ingredients or use what nature and our cuisine offer us.

How to remove the eyes and face
Preparing a natural eye make-up remover is very simple. You will only need to get a glass or non-transparent plastic bottle. You can retrieve the vial of a finished cosmetic or the jar of a finished fruit juice or syrup, all well washed with warm water and soap or in the dishwasher and dry thoroughly.
50gr of extra-virgin olive oil is combined with 50gr of rice oil, pouring them directly into the vial with the help of a small funnel. These vegetable oils are cheap and have a high cleansing power.
Before using our make-up remover, it is necessary to shake a few seconds immediately after slightly wetting a cotton pad or a soft sponge, pour a few drops of oil on them, and immediately rest on the eye moistened with a little water.
Lightly press the cotton pad or sponge on the eye and wait a few seconds before removing them, then gently drag them away from the eyes so that all the makeup is eliminated without irritating the skin around it. Repeat this step until you have removed all the makeup.
In the same way, you can remove make-up from the rest of the face, taking care to eliminate all traces of make-up.
How to cleanse the face
After removing make-up, it is necessary to rinse your face with warm water and mild soap to eliminate make-up and oil residues. It is important to clean the face thoroughly of any oil and make-up residues to prevent these from clogging the pores and causing the many hated blackheads.
Apply the tonic and moisturizer
It is necessary to hydrate and make the skin toned and radiant, so it is time to apply the tonic to the face. You can use an infusion of chamomile, which has calming properties and prevents redness, or an infusion of lavender or rosemary, more suitable for those with oily skin.
The chamomile infusion is prepared at home by immersing a sachet of chamomile sieved in about 200ml of boiling water for a few minutes, filtered, and transferred to a spray container.
To prepare the other infusions, replace the sieved chamomile sachet with a handful of dried lavender flowers, which can be purchased in herbal medicine, or a few sprigs of rosemary. These infusions should be kept in the refrigerator for a few days.
Applying them is very simple: spray your favorite infusion on a clean and dry face and wait a few seconds for its absorption. After a few seconds, you can gently pat the area with a towel to dry your face completely.
Now that your face has dried completely, the time has come to apply a gentle and natural moisturizer suitable for your skin type. To hydrate the skin of the face and regenerate its cells, you can combine a teaspoon of aloe Vera gel with a teaspoon of rice oil and 1 or 2 drops of essential oil at your pleasure, mix, and spread them on the face.
